Yes, if you belong to a managed care carrier you must have a referral from your primary care physician.
Yes, Medicare will pay for a screening colonoscopy – for patients not at high risk every 10 years. The patient is responsible for any deductible and co-payments.
Medicare will cover screening colonoscopies for patients at high risk of colorectal cancer once every 24 months. Some insurance carriers do not cover the screening service.
Medicare automatically forwards claims to many secondary carriers; if they do not, we will gladly submit your claim.
If you have a commercial insurance carrier or Blue Shield as the secondary insurance, we will also send those claims.
